Australia Post offers mail redirection for eligible mail, which can provide a useful safety net while you update individual records. Redirection does not replace direct notification: some mail may be excluded, and organisations still need your current address for identification, billing and legal correspondence.
Keep a simple checklist with the organisation, date updated and confirmation reference. Work from the most important records down rather than trying to remember everything on moving day.

Update each relevant government service through its official channel. Changing details in one account does not necessarily update every agency. Services Australia provides instructions for updating contact details for Centrelink, Medicare and Child Support services. The Australian Electoral Commission has a separate enrolment update process.
For a Western Australian driver's licence or vehicle record, use the current address-change instructions from the WA Department of Transport. Check the official page at the time of your move for the procedure and any deadline rather than relying on an old checklist.

Money, work and essential services
Arrange final readings, disconnections and new connections around the handover dates. Confirm whether equipment must be returned. For insurance, tell the provider about both the move and the new property because cover and risk details may change.

Check saved addresses before placing an online order after the move. Old defaults can remain in shopping apps even after billing details change. Keep your redirection active for the period you choose, review redirected mail as it arrives and update the sender directly.
